Annual Worland CultureFest - The fourth annual CultureFest is set for Saturday, June 11, 2005 this year. The wonderful event celebrates the different cultural diversities within the City of Worland and begins with a parade down Big Horn Ave. at 10:00am. Food vendors are located at Pioneer Park, artists' booths will be set up on the courthouse lawn, and with live entertainment on Ninth St. this event will be one you won't want to miss. For more information on becoming involved, please contact Linda Abell, CultureFest Coordinator, at 347-8857.

Pioneer Square – Created for the 1990 Wyoming Centennial and dedicated to the men and women who dug irrigation canals which transformed the arid country side into a lush farming region.  It features a bell tower with clarion bells, an outdoor stage, numerous sculptures, and a memory lane.  Located on the corner of Big Horn Ave. and N. 10th St.

Washakie Museum and Cultural Center – Exhibits include major historical photograph collection and programs on the art, history, geology, archaeology and paleontology of the region.  Exhibits change regularly.  They are the host of music and theatrical events throughout the year.  For more information call 307-347-4102.  Located at 1115 Obie Sue Ave.

4th of July Rodeo & Parade – Ten Sleep has hosted the 4th of July Rodeo & Parade for over 50 years.  Normally a sleepy little town at the foot of the Big Horns and the only other town in Washakie County, Ten Sleep turns into a rompin’, stompin’ good time for the whole family.  Top competitors from all over the country and the world come to try their luck.  An excellent vacation idea but be sure to plan in advance, accommodations fill up fast.  For more information contact the Town of Ten Sleep at 307-366-2265 or the Worland Chamber of Commerce  at 307-347-3226.

Gift of the Waters Pageant – A short thirty-minute drive to Thermopolis is well worth the effort to experience this celebration in person.  Held the first week of August annually, it commemorates the deeding of the world’s largest mineral hot spring from the Shoshone and the Arapahoe to the people of Wyoming in 1896.  Native Americans dressed in their tribal regalia perform traditional dances.  Other highlights include a parade and the Gift of the Waters Craft Fair.  For more information contact the Hot Springs State Park.
